[1 Peter Devo day #3]
Today, my pup is full of energy! Squeaky clean and a little damp from his shower this morning, he is doing a full on happy dance. Dogs are so funny. I hope your morning was as fun as mine.
Let’s start in 1 Peter 1:3-5
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”- 1 Peter 1:3-5
My friend, you have an inheritance in heaven waiting for you. Because you are part of God’s family, you have a part in His inheritance in heaven. Glorious riches that can never get lost or fade. Plus, guess what who is protecting you and taking care of the inheritance for you? The Lord! When life gets hard, it is easy to zoom in on life circumstances. Do not give up! Have faith and look beyond this life. Remember what is stored for you up in heaven and press on. This life is temporary but heaven is eternal and it is beautiful.
1 Peter 1:5 talks about how God is protecting you. In the New Living Translation version, it is a little more understandable. “And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.”-1 Peter 1:5 By faith, you are protected by a God who loves His people. As Jesus would say, “Have Faith.” What is faith exactly? I believe faith is the assurance, not the hope but full assurance, trust or confidence of something. Friends, let us have faith that we have a God who is a protector and we have a great everlasting inheritance in heaven someday.
Prayer: Lord, help me to have faith in you and in my inheritance. Life is hard and I forget to believe. Open my eyes to your presence, let your spirit guide me. I believe in you today. Thank you Lord for being my faithful protector. Amen.
Day #3 is Completed!
Have a beautiful day!
